The Enrichment Program purpose is to extend the ideology of the school mission beyond core academic subjects. Our students receive a quality education in their after school classroom while having fun and learning extra-curricular activities. For the 2016-2017 school year, the La Fe Preparatory Enrichment Program will offer various classes ranging from the fine arts to sports. The students took one art and one sports class per semester, completing 4 different classes per school year.
From 3:00 -3:15 p.m., a healthy snack is provided to students by the cafeteria. From 3:15 -5:00 p.m. the students will attend their enrichment class. By 5:15 all students must be picked up by parents or guardian.
All classes are age appropriate and chosen for each grade level every semester. As the school grows the enrichment program grows along with it by adding more classes. For example, during the 2015-2016 school year, classes included Art, Chess, Debate, Folkorico, and Mariachi which helps the students grow intellectually.
Well structured lesson plans and curriculum for each class helps the extra-curricular program contribute to the goal of student’s gaining the most knowledge possible. Enrichment Program instructors observe students in their normal classroom setting so that their lesson plans may be integrate thematic units, students weaknesses and major focus areas into the afterschool lessons.
On Fridays the Enrichment Program offers a variety of classes and clubs such as girl scouts, chess team, and Movie Theater for the little ones. The Enrichment Program also participates in as many community activities as possible, for example City Wide Chess Tournaments, BEEMS, Community festivals, Mexican Consulate Art Competitions, and city parades.
